Yeager's Art Spot
Welcome to the Art Spot. I am Heather Warner-Yeager, artist and k-12 educator located in the beautiful Great Lakes area. I am creating this site for my masters program at the University of Florida. I graduated from Siena Heights University with my BFA in painting and my k-12 certification back in 2008. I have taught in Brownstown, MI at the junior high level in the 6-7 building, while also freelancing here in my local community. Before my most recent degree I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and received a degree in Graphic Design in 1999. I worked quite a few years in this field, building a client base and gaining experience.
I am constantly striving to find new and exciting avenues to light that flame beneath my kids. Watching them connect and reach a level of self satisfaction in their own abilities is what it is all about. Teaching children has proven to be one of the most rewarding things that I have done with my life and I am very grateful that I was given opportunities to guide and enrich their educational careers.
Besides enjoying art myself, this site is also for you. I hope that this will be an insightful and useful tool to all that visit. Feel free to check out the curriculum page and borrow ideas for your own classroom. I have been blessed with many talented people in my life who have shared and guided me towards some very creative and exciting ideas to teach my kids. Feel free to share, I am always open for ideas and insight too.
Visit my gallery page and scope out some of my own personal work. Below is a small preview of my exhibition. You can find more great lesson ideas, artist information and teacher resources through my link pages.
